Girl, let me tell you about Dee Alexander.
Her newest client, Hollywood star Lucretia Lee, turned up dead, wearing a wig Dee made. Now folks are whispering that Dee had something to do with it.
Before all this mess, she’d walked away from a big TV news career in Washington, DC, for the good life in Indian Falls, North Carolina, a 55+ community with manicured lawns, block parties, and neighbors who miss nothing. She made custom wigs, reviewed them on YouTube, and spent her evenings trading wisecracks with her ride-or-die, Ruby.
Life was sweet. Until it wasn't.
Now her name is all over the news, her clients are running for the hills, and the fine retired detective who just moved into the subdivision keeps telling her to let the police handle it. Honey, please. Dee was an investigative reporter long before she was a wig maker, and she's not about to sit on her porch and let somebody ruin her good name.
So she grabs her best friend, calls in every favor she's got, and starts asking the questions nobody wants answered. But the closer Dee gets to the truth, the clearer it becomes: somebody went to a whole lot of trouble to bury it, and they're not done yet.
What's inside:
Sisterhood that doesn't quit
A slow-burn, grown-folks romance
An insider's look at the wig world
A clean, laugh-out-loud cozy
If you've been waiting for a cozy mystery with citified flair mixed with Southern fried sass, this one's for you.
