Wanda, the local composting queen, was poisoned by a bad batch of killer granola at the annual Earth Fest. Paige gets tangled up in the mystery and enlists her friends to help her uncover the truth.
As Paige and her friends investigate, they uncover plenty of secrets and realize that more than one person may have wanted Wanda the Worm Lady out of the way.
Review
Killer Granola is a delightful mystery with a wonderful cast of quirky characters. The amateur sleuth, Paige, has a very unique job as a milliner. Milliners design, create, and sell hats and headpieces. Interesting tidbits about the profession are sprinkled into the story in a fun way.
Paige is also an amateur baker and part of the Beachside Dining Club, a group of friends who have a monthly potluck where they share food and a heaping helping of gossip. Much like the Scooby Gang, these friends rise to the occasion and work together whenever there is a mystery to solve
The story is set in Sea Glass Beach, California, a quaint coastal town with sand, surf, and sunshine. It provides the perfect backdrop for a cozy mystery.
Author Amelia Pine’s writing is warm and inviting, much like the town she describes, making it easy for readers to become invested in the characters and their stories. Her ability to craft a compelling, well-paced mystery without resorting to dark or overly complex themes makes this book a perfect fit for fans of light-hearted mysteries.
Killer Granola ends with a couple of yummy bonus recipes so you can keep the fun going after you finish reading.
