COZY MYSTERY NEWS

1.) A six-episode adaptation of Agatha Christie's Tommy and Tuppence book series is coming to BritBox. The show will debut in the U.S. and Canada on September 15. Josh Dylan and Antonia Thomas star as Tommy and Tuppence. Imelda Staunton stars as Aunt Ada. The first Tommy and Tuppence story appeared in The Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie.

2.) Registration for the 25th annual New England Crime Bake opened yesterday. This event (for crime writers and readers) will be held November 6-8, 2026 in Dedham, Massachusetts.

3.) Lang Fisher and Tina Fey are adapting Elle Cosimano's Book Finlay Donovan Is Killing It for TV on Peacock.

4.) ElevenLabs, a generative AI platform specializing in text-to-speech, voice cloning, and audio localization, added 200,000 new book titles to its ElevenReader app, including a catalog of books from traditional publishers like Blackstone and HarperCollins. These titles, designated as "premier titles," are available through a new program called ElevenReader Ultra, which allows subscribers to pay $11 per month for 20 hours of listening. A free listening tier is also available. HarperCollins appears to be the only Big Five publisher participating so far.

5.) Tonya Kappes Holiday Cozy Mystery Series has officially been optioned by P23 Films. This series features reporter Violet Rhinehammer solving holiday-themed mysteries in a small Kentucky town named Holiday Junction. Watch the P23 Films Company Trailer announcement.

From Print to Film: A Book's Journey to Prime Time TV with Alyssa Maxwell

Saturday, June 20, 11:00 am-12:00 pm

At the next meeting of the Upper Hudson Sisters in Crime, Alyssa Maxwell will describe the several-year process that took Murder at the Breakers, the first book in her Gilded Newport Mysteries and a USA Today Bestseller, from a longshot option to a Hallmark movie. She’ll talk about the highs and lows, hopes and disappointments, and the excitement of seeing her book come to life. Alyssa has more than twenty books in print, including those in the Gilded Newport Mysteries and A Lady and Lady’s Maid Mysteries.

This event is on Zoom and open to the public. The event is free, but registration is required. Register for the event.
